About Babe's Chicken in Sanger

Well, howdy there, folks! Welcome to our Babe’s Chicken Dinner House right here in Sanger, TX where we’ve been servin’ up Southern comfort that’ll make your heart sing since September 26, 2003 – and sugar, this old building’s got stories older than your great-grand pappy’s overalls!
This fine establishment has been servin’ the community since way back in 1898, when it first opened as the O.M. Gentle Hardware Store. Now that’s a name that just rolls off the tongue like honey, don’t it? Back in those days, you could mosey on in here and find yourself a brand new Farmall Tractor sittin’ right next to a shiny Ford Automobile – talk about one-stop shoppin’! From horsepower to actual horses under the hood, they had it all!
Now, as you’re checkin’ out at our cashier stand, take-a-peek at those rounded parts – those aren’t just for show, darlin’! Those are genuine wagon wheel hubs, the real McCoy from back when wagons were the way folks got around. And see those charming lights hangin’ overhead? Well, they once lit up young minds at an old schoolhouse on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. We rescued ’em and gave ’em a new purpose – lightin’ up good times instead of grammar lessons!
Just like all our locations, every table and chair in here has traveled more miles than a traveling salesman, comin’ from other restaurants and homes to find their way to us. And that beautiful boat sittin’ in the dining room? That’s a “made by Cruiser” model from 1959 that spent most of her glory days cruisin’ the waters of Tablerock Lake up in Missouri. Now she’s sailed on over to Texas to help us celebrate good food and good company!
We’ve got more tales than a campfire circle, so don’t be shy about askin’ your server for our Babe’s Facts while you’re enjoyin’ that crisp salad. Good eatin’ and good stories – that’s how we do it in Sanger, TX!
