About Babe's Chicken in Cedar Hill

Well, hey there, y’all! Welcome to Babe’s Chicken Cedar Hill, where we’ve been dishin’ out family-style goodness since we opened our doors on June 8, 2009 – and let me tell you, this old building’s got more character than a front porch full of storytellers!

Now this here place has served our community in more ways than one, bless its heart. Way back in 1962, this building started life as Cedar Hill’s fire station, complete with three engine bays ready to house those big red trucks. You can just picture those brave firefighters rushin’ out to help folks in need! Come 1987, the fire station packed up and moved on to bigger quarters, and this sturdy building got itself a brand-new purpose as Cedar Hill’s City Hall – from savin’ lives to servin’ the public, now that’s what I call puttin’ a building to good use!

Now, we’re mighty proud of somethin’ special we did when we were fixin’ this place up. See that southwest corner? That’s our little monument to honor all the good this building has done over the years. Those radio towers you see standin’ tall and proud! Well, sugar, those very towers used to transmit for police and fire operations for many a year, keepin’ our community safe and connected. We kept ’em in all their original glory because some things are just too important to take down – they’re a testament to all the folks who served this town.

Right up front in our dining room, we’ve got ourselves a special private room that’s near and dear to our hearts. It’s dedicated to our good friend Steve Phillips, a true pillar of this community who joined the Lord in 2010. Steve was the kind of fella who made everybody feel like family, and we wanted to make sure his memory lives on where folks gather to share good food and good times.

We’ve got plenty more heartwarming stories to share, so don’t hesitate to ask your server for our Babe’s Facts while you’re workin’ on that fresh salad. After all, the best meals come with the best memories!
